Biography

Horizon has always held a special place in her heart for dance. In childhood she studied many different styles and joined the Academy of Performing Arts at the age of 12 and began to perform on stage.  She did her BA in Performing Arts at the University of Hertfordshire, where she studied Contemporary dance, Physical theatre dance along with Jazz & Ballet.

In 2004 a friend introduced her to Bellydance and she found a new passion, the beat of the Egyptian Drums! Horizon began studying Raqs Sharqi (traditional Egyptian dance) with Claire Morgan and Bridget Poulter along with exploring the variety of fusion DVDs. Horizon began ATS in 2007 and also travelled the country attending dance workshops with many dancers including Amy from Unmata, Tjarda from the Uzume, Rose Harden, Heather Stance from Urban Tribal and Sam Riggs from Domba.

Horizon began teaching Contemporary fusion Bellydance in 2007, a blend of tribal style bellydance, jazz and contemporary dance. Horizon teaches weekly both beginners tribal style and improvers gypsy fusion and formed Masmoudi Muses, a student troupe performing locally at fetes and Haflas

Imajica Dance company was born from the natural progression to work at a professional level and now enjoy exploring a variety of dance styles. The group performs Contemporary fusion Bellydance, Fire dance and Cabaret Pastiche. Horizon’s student troupe is called Horizon and the Azimuth and perform Gypsy fusion bellydance.

Horizon still continues to attend a variety events and workshops and both Imajica have a diary full teaching workshops and performing at a variety of summer festivals and are beginning to become known figure within the UK Dance Scene.
