Biography
Sefirah is a performing artist of oriental dances, and she has been performing for years in Hungary and abroad alike. She is an award-winning dancer. Due to her unique, imaginative performances she is considered as one of Hungary’s best oriental dancers.
Sefirah has been into stage dances since the age of 3, doing oriental dance since 1996. She has been teaching, choreographing and giving intensive courses for 7 years and her expressive style has won her recognition on four continents. She has performed in Egypt, Yemen, Kenya, Tunisia, Germany, France, Canada and in several European festivals. For 18 months she worked as a solo dancer in Austria’s main Arabic restaurant and then became a regular guest performer at the Hotel Grand Royal and the Hotel Chorintia Aquincum in Budapest. She has been working with the Greek group, Sirtos, for over 6 years. In 2006 she founded her own enterprise, Oriental Dance Hungary, whose main aim is to help talented dancers who wish to improve their skills and are committed to this particular form of art.
As well as her work as a dancer-choreographer, she is the chief organiser of Hungary’s most successful festival-workshop series. She has invited, among others, Mahmud Reda, Farida Fahmy, Sahra Saeeda, Saida & Mario Kirlis, Jillina, Hossam & Serena Ramzy and Amar Gamal.
Sefirah has published an instructional video about oriental dance entitled Veil Dance, as well as another one for children entitled Sefirah and the Little Princesses. Oriental dance has become her passion which she wishes to elevate to the highest possible levels with her own style. Several years of international experience has contributed to her development as a dancer and she continues to refine her dancing by training with the leading teachers of the Arabic dance world.
