Biography
Laura De Gaspari studied Egyptian/Arabic dance at the Hilal School of Raqs Sharqi from 1986 to 1992 and was part of Suraya Hilal’s company from 1989 to 1992. Since then, she has developed her own dance projects as a solo dancer with musicians and has been involved extensively in dance projects in Belgium and The Netherlands.
Laura teaches mainly by developing the innate intuition of how the body transforms emotions into a meaningful, powerful, audacious movement. Her aim is to connect dancers to their inner sense, where they draw an inspiration for self-expression, to a way of living dance as the interconnection of life and art.
Laura graduated in philosophy with a thesis partly on dance. She is pursuing an education in Yoga and continues to research into dance.
